Browns Ct has access off Independence and Sixth St (both are one way) – but it does not lend itself to through-traffic. Road noise is therfore mostly confined to residents’ cars. The court’s cobbled road has parking on one side. There is no assigned parking – the court spaces have the same status as street-parking, i.e. first come. For information about parking permit in DC:

Half a mile to the west is the Library of Congress. Just beyond is the Capitol. All of the Smithsonian museum area stretches from the bottom of the Hill to the Washington Monument
