My recommendation: use a broker (preferably Nick Goforth of Anchor Associates!!) I spent a great deal of time researching areas, contacting (who I thought to be) owners, making appointments... only to be disappointed time after time. I was lucky enough to come across an incredible apartment... and an incredible broker!! Unfortunately, the timing was a little off with my current lease, so I had to pass. However, the next day Nick emailed me with another amazing find. (He really listened to what I was looking for, what my priorities were, etc.) The second I walked into the apartment, I just knew - it was my new NYC home!
