Built as an affordable senior community in 1972 in the Oregon District, approximately one mile from downtown Dayton, Jaycee Towers was at risk of being converted to market-rate housing and in need of a modernization. Redwood developed a preservation and redevelopment plan to revitalize the property, which included a comprehensive community focused renovation. The revitalization included full unit renovations, façade improvements, systems upgrades, elevator modernizations, security upgrades and energy efficient appliances and fixtures throughout. Additionally, a new on-site service coordinator office was built along with a wellness center, fitness center, community gardens and picnic areas.
