I am looking for a long-term housemate to take this bedroom starting March 1. It is an excellent value for DC, rent-controlled (with the listed rate locked in until August 2016), and an easy access point to all of DC and Northern Virginia. This is a beautiful, spacious bedroom in a two-bedroom apartment located within a ten-minute walk to L'Enfant Plaza and Waterfront metro stations, and a twenty-minute walk away from the National Mall, Capital Hill, and the Tidal Basin. Safeway and CVS are located right next to Waterfront metro, within easy walking distance. The apartment includes a full bathroom, kitchen (with gas stove, oven, and appliances), a living/dining common area, and a balcony. The entire apartment, bedrooms included, feature large windows that provide amazing natural light throughout the day. The bedroom for rent is over 150 sqft and features two closet spaces, one of which is walk-in. While it will be unfurnished, the bed frame seen in the pictures is available for sale, along with some other small furniture. Utilities are included in the rent, and WiFi is $60/mo, which we would split. I don't currently have cable, but am open to getting it. The apartment offers access to a large pool for a small fee, as well as a full gym membership option. Parking passes are available if you own a car ($80/month for a nearby lot, and $150/month for an indoor garage down the street), and it is easy to store a bike on the balcony. Move-in requires a $75 application fee. If we want the lease to remain month-to-month, we will also need to pay a $500 lease adjustment fee. I would prefer signing a year-long lease, but am also open to keeping it month-to-month. I am a 25 year old guy working at an international development firm. My ideal roommate would be someone who is responsible, clean, and open to hanging out once in a while. I would prefer a long-term housemate (for at least one year), but shorter arrangements are not a deal-breaker.
