I have a 2 room studio. My job is not paying me all that great, and I am tight with my rent and bills. I put all my stuff in my 1 private room. I divided the space in the main room. My roommate will have a large closet and the use of my sofa and ottoman. I have divided the space pretty well. I just need 1 or 2 more dividers for FULL privacy.
I am a laid back 52 year old Male. I would consider a roommate who is music friendly, cat friendly (I own a 3 year old male tabby cat) and I am 420 friendly. I work middle shift from 2:30 to 10:30 pm. So, if my roommate worked days, that would work out fine. I would com home late and keep it quiet. And my roommate would be up early and out to work.
That way, we would have the place to ourselves, except on weekends. I am two blocks from the R train to Manhattan, and 1 long block to Walgreens, Chase Bank and restaurants, bagel spots, pizza and chinese food.... All very convenient and nearby.
There are 2 washers and 2 dryers in the building. The building has tall ceilings and is very sound proof. I am going to sign a 1 year lease without an increase this year.
I am asking $550.00 per month. $500 for the rent and $50 dollars towards utility bills.
If the air conditioning bills spike in summer, I will ask $600 total for rent and bills.
