We are two young male professionals (35 and 23 years old) looking for a third person, male or female, to join us in our 3-bedroom, 2-bath apartment at The Mondrian in the Logan Circle area. We are seeking for someone who is considerate, mature, clean (but adaptable), relatively quiet and friendly.
We split the rent and utilities (electricity, cable TV, and cable internet) equally three ways. The cost of utilities fluctuates from month to month depending on the weather, but averages $100 per person. We also split the cost of some shared items (e.g., paper towels, trash bags), excluding food. The sublease will run until November 30th, when the main lease is renewed each year. The apartment management increases the rent slightly each year, but no more than that DC government will allow.
The apartment is three floors and is located in the second building of a two-building apartment complex. You would live on the second floor and share a bathroom with the guy who lives on the first floor. Your room has a deep closet and a wall of windows facing a cherry blossom tree. It's gorgeous in the springtime. The apartment itself is off a courtyard and is relatively quiet. We have a rooftop patio on the third floor that is great for getting friends together.
We are a 5-minute walk from Whole Foods and everything in the 14th St corridor. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Green and Yellow Lines (Mt. Vernon Square) or the Blue and Orange Lines (McPherson Square). The walk to Dupont Circle or Metro Center for the Red Line is about 15 minutes.
Carlton is the one on the main lease with the apartment management, so he ensures the rent and utilities are paid and collects repayment from both roommates. He is a 35-year-old male who currently works in fundraising for a non-profit focused on the development and emergency relief in the Middle East in Dupont Circle and holds a master's degree from Johns Hopkins SAIS. He used to know enough Arabic to get by. He loves playing the guitar (acoustic and electric) and occasionally singing along. He likes roommates who can balance being both laid back and conscientious.
Jonathan is a 23-year-old male who currently works as a legislative assistant on Capitol Hill and holds a master's degree from GW. Jonathan sometimes enjoys company from time to time, but is mostly out of the house. In a roommate, he appreciates a warm personality and flexibility around the common area.
