WE HAVE MOST LIKELY FILLED THIS POSITION. ONCE IT IS FINALIZED WE WILL REMOVE THIS AD. We are a professional couple who live in the heart of NOMA and have careers in energy and sustainability policy and are looking for a roommate to share our apartment with. We enjoy the outdoors, craft beer (homebrew and otherwise), board games and cooking (when we have the time). We also have a super cute dog name Margo who is all ears. We are low drama, neat, LGBT friendly, and pretty chill. Our current roommate is moving out and we are looking for someone to take over the remainder of his lease which goes through the end of August. The option to renew for another year will also be available. You must apply with the apartment building and be added to the lease, but that isn’t much more than a formality. If you decide to move in, the building requires that you also have a renter’s insurance policy. There is no specific income requirement as we have already fulfilled that for the apartment so the application is just your basic credit and criminal background check. There is also no deposit, assuming your credit is fine. The common areas of the apartment will be furnished and includes a bar-height table with chairs, full living room set of furniture and kegerator. The available room is the den which has a half bath across the hall from it (but the shower in the main bathroom will be shared). See the floor plan image for a general layout of the apartment. The red boxes show approximately where the furniture we have is located (the only thing currently in the den is a standing lamp). The den can accommodate a queen sized bed or smaller and some small furniture for clothing storage (maybe a dresser, clothing rack and small shelf). The best use of the space would probably be an elevated bed with desk and dresser under it, but it’s up to you to decide how to best equip the space. The apartment is on the 6th floor of the Loree Grand and has a balcony facing south (towards H Street and Capitol Hill). It includes all modern appliances: - Dishwasher - Washer and dryer - Microwave - Refrigerator - Glass-top stove It is well insulated (for both sound and heat) from other apartments because the building was originally built as condos. You would be responsible for 1/3 of the water and power bills but we will cover wireless internet and trash. If you're interested in cable, we can discuss our options there, but we do not currently have a television. A bit about the Loree Grand and surrounding neighborhood: - The Loree Grand is only about 6 years old (i.e. all new appliances, no pests, etc.) - We have TD Burger in our building, and Indigo ("Indian food to go") across the street - Easy short walk to Union Station & the NoMa Metro stop (Red Line) - Walking distance to H Street (bars and restaurants) & Harris Teeter or Giant - Across the street from where the new flagship REI store will be opening in September and a few blocks from where the new Whole Foods will be opening on H Street. - Includes 24/7 concierge service & maintenance - Club room with full cable, pool table, and leave a book take a book resident library - Grills and tables in the courtyard (grilling utensils can be checked out from the front desk) - Full service gym - Rooftop deck access - Bicycle parking in garage - Parking garage if needed (and for guests) - Adjacent to residential area so street parking permits can be obtained - The club room has free printing, etc. - Monthly Resident Appreciation breakfast and miscellaneous events - Valet dry cleaning from the front desk - Pet friendly (check out the picture of our adorable dog, Margo) We are looking for another professional who is clean, respectful and responsible.
