Hello! I am a female professional in my mid-20s looking for a roommate beginning July 8th. If necessary, it's possible to move in a little before that (a few days or a week). I would prefer someone who can move in more long-term but am willing to take someone for a shorter period or a few months if I can't find that long-term person. The rent of $1298 does not include utilities. Normal utilities (heat/water/electric) are usually $25-$35/person per month. At the moment we have wifi ($20/person per month) but no cable, but if cable is absolutely necessary to you I am happy to discuss. ROOM/APARTMENT The room is the larger of two within a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment. You have plenty of space and your own walk-in closet. We have a shared bathroom and nice-sized kitchen with fridge, stove, oven, etc. Your room does not come furnished but my roommate is hoping to sell her bed, desk, etc. for a negotiable price if you are interested. The hallway closets all have full-length mirrors. The couches, coffee tables, chair, dining set, etc in living room will stay. I am not attached to any of the common space furniture, so if you have your own to bring in I am happy to replace it! I have dishes/silverware you can use for the kitchen. -Laundry located within our building just one floor below. $1.75 to wash/dry. -FREE PARKING included in a gated lot behind the building (you can see your car from your window) and guest passes are easy to attain for visitors. -New gym within the apartment complex free for use + resident lounge -AC & Heating individually controlled within apartment -Controlled building access -24 hour emergency maintenance LOCATION **The location is central to everything.** -Located literally right beside the Mount Vernon Square metro station/Convention Center (metro green/yellow lines). -5-7 minutes walking from Chinatown & the red line at Gallery Place/China Town (or just take the green/yellow line down and transfer if you're running late). -15 minute walk from downtown DC and Metro Center (silver/blue/orange/red) with lots of shopping including Macy's, Zara, H&M etc. -25 minute walk or 15min metro to DuPont Circle (perfect for sunny Sunday trips to the farmer's market) -15 minute walk or 3 minute metro to U Street (popular bar street) -20 minute walk to National Mall -DC Circulator picks up two blocks away -70 Georgia Ave/7th Street Bus Line stops in front of building -Giant less than two blocks away, Safeway 5 minute walk, Harris Teeter and Whole Foods about 15 minute walk and Trader Joe's a 25 minute walk. -Farmers' Markets every Tues/Thurs/Sat/Sun all within walking distance. -Capital Bikeshare across the street ABOUT ME I am a young professional, very easy-going and have lived in DC for a little over a year. I like to keep things clean and respectable but am not a neat-freak at the same time. My hobbies include traveling, running, trying new foods, going out on weekends and taking advantage of all that DC offers e.g. festivals, concerts, embassy visits, etc. I work pretty normal hours (9a-6p ish) and workout or go to the occasional happy hour after work. I cook most nights and am happy to share with you! I like to host so it's normal for me to have people hang around or stop by on the weekends and I encourage inviting guests over. Sadly, (but happily for her!), my current roommate is moving in with her boyfriend and now I am looking for the right person to share this lovely space with.
