Location: In Mount Pleasant, which is a lovely historic neighborhood with lots of tree-lined streets and houses, and a main street with restaurants and cafes and farmer's market. A two-minute walk to Rock Creek Park. A seven-minute walk from the Columbia Heights metro station and all the shops of Columbia Heights (Giant, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, CVS etc.) and 15 minute walk to the 11th street corridor and the National Zoo.
Transport: A seven-minute walk from the Columbia Heights metro station. The green and yellow lines take you downtown in ten minutes. Apart from the metro it's also well connected by bus routes – including all the S buses downtown, 42/43 buses, and H buses.
Apartment: Light-filled corner unit on the 3rd floor and has 2 bedrooms with a third small room that we use as an office, could potentially be used as a third small bedroom/nursery. Ample closet space in each room plus a coat closet. 1 bathroom. Kitchen has granite counters, maple cabinets, a full sized fridge, electric stove and dishwasher, also has a microwave. There's carpet in the 2 bedrooms and wood flooring in the rest of the apartment (except the entrance and bathroom which has tile). It gets great light, especially in the corner bedroom and there are windows in every room. The building is a 5 story mid-sized building with quiet neighbors.
Amenities: Beautiful view from the roof deck. Access to gym, bike storage room, and common courtyard. Washer and dryer in the unit. In-built air-conditioning/heating that is controlled in the unit (not by the building as a whole). Mail room for secure package delivery. Cost: $3000 per month plus utilities (which would be only electricity since all heating, cooling, stove etc. are electric – there is no gas). Water and sewage will not need to be paid for
