Just as spring is springing, our lovely granny flat is coming on-line again. It’s the perfect time to move out into the country (if you’re not already there).
Wakefield is a wonderful place to live: a vibrant community with lots of arts, music and several festivals.
Great stores, restaurants and bars.
Infrastructure is constantly improving: just now the new boardwalk is being created on the waterfront.
We have already: community centre with library, theatre and skate park, elementary school, hospital, doctors’ clinic, dentist, optometrist, pharmacy. Hockey arena in neighbouring Masham.
Public transport to and from the city has also finally arrived.
And all this with a relaxing 30 minute commute to the city!
The house is just 3.5kms north of the covered bridge – and a lovely walk. In the winter you can snow shoe right out the door.
The place is the perfect size for a single person, but for the last 2 ½ years we had a couple who will attest that it worked wonderfully for them, too.
In the summer you can sit on your deck or go for a swim in the Gatineau River. Have a canoe or kayak? Bring it!
The apartment is fully furnished and comes well-equipped.
Kitchen: fridge, microwave, toaster oven, ceramic cook-top. Dishes, flat- and glassware, pots and pans.
Bed & bath: towels, bedding and linens.
There is an apartment size washer in the bathroom and a clothesline outside.
Hydro, heating and hot water are included. Parking in the front yard.
There is WiFi, but we can only get a plan with a data cap out here.
No smoking inside.
