Seeking an equally quiet, adult, communicative roommate to replace my current one. Once approved by the apartment management, you will take over her portion of the lease that goes until the end of May 2019. Full rent is $1349, of which you'll pay half and half of all utilities. We pay the property for Gas, Valet Trash, Pest Control and Water. Electric is separate and we will need a new account. (Unfortunately, electric has been kind of high due to the heat, a weird A/C and a vaulted ceiling. I try to be diligent about it but last month was $113 total.) I currently pay for Google Fiber which is about $74 a month. We also split renter's insurance. The apartment is actually a pretty spacious 1020 sq ft duplex on East Oltorf, just over 35. About 3 miles from downtown, a mile from 2 H E Bs and South Congress, a few blocks walking distance from Buzzmill. Can make it to Radio and the South Lamar Wheatsville pretty fast by taking Ben White. If you're a traveler, it's pretty close to the airport. Your room is 12' 10" x 11' 10". You have a walk in closet and a private bathroom across the hall. Room is unfurnished. The complex has 2 pools and gym, though I haven't used any of them so couldn't tell you how they are. Gas range. Things you should know about the apartment: Soft water, Oven blasts heat into the kitchen if used (Pretty much just use a toaster oven,) no locks on bedroom doors, walls are kind of thin, a television playing in the living room can send sound down the hallway into the bedrooms depending on volume, central A/C cools well but seems to run constantly (we actually just got a brand new one and it's a lot better but with the hot heat outside it is still chugging along. I mess with it when I think about it.) About me: I'm an introvert man in my 30s who is about to start a new job. I've been in Austin 5 years and love it. I don't talk about politics but am Anti-Trump. I like nerd shit but I'm not a nut about it, I cook and eat vegan/vegetarian food, I buy too much junk from thrift stores, I like hiking, I'm into tennis, I enjoy walking for exercise, I like watching all sorts of movies and TV. I like quiet and privacy and will respect your space and stuff. I don't play loud music or really go to shows. I handwash my dishes and don't use the dishwasher. If you have a cat, great! I'm not super into living with dogs, though. Maybe a smaller one. You pay pet rent. I do not drink except for rare occasions when I want wine but I am 420 friendly. No cigarette smokers, though. I'm not into partying or having large groups in the house. Ideally, you work normal hours (My last 2 roommates have had odd hours and I'm a pretty light sleeper.) Proof of employment and rental history will be necessary for the lease takeover. Prefer late 20s to 30s. Male/Female is OK. We don't have to be great friends if it doesn't click, but I need someone who isn't passive aggressive and is able to talk roommate things out. (This is the issue with my current one, full disclosure.) Would be interested in a roommate agreement next time around. Despite what you see in the pictures, roommate's stuff will be removed from bedroom, bathroom and living room. She has asked to stay until the end of the month, but it's possible she'll be gone before that. Feel free to ask questions and tell me about yourself if interested.
