For this impressive apartment, your twelfth month will be free. (The rent is for $1790/month, which works out to $1641 on average in the first 12 months because of the free month.)
The rent covers all bills: Rogers 1 Gbps internet & Digital VIP cable (incl. Crave, HBO, etc), electricity, water, window A/C, and heating through excellent radiators. Amenities downstairs include an inexpensive laundry area ($1 per wash), secure indoor bicycle parking, and small lawns for picnics/playing. The apartment comes mostly furnished with a dresser, boxspring, tables, chairs, extra futon and useful appliances large & small: range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, waffle-maker, etc.
This apartment, on the third floor, has hardwood under area rugs, and a super-spacious renovated kitchen. There are two windows facing north and three facing east, all very large with views to the horizon, all with sliding acoustic-glass inserts, and most with motorized blinds. Check out the three handsome closets.
The building, named the Roycroft, is in the art deco architectural style, completed in the 1930s by developer James Watson whose works across Toronto include the Crofton and the Shaughnessy on either side of us, and the Du Maurier near Yonge Street. The building has its original elevator, a diligent superintendent with on-site office, and a buzzer system for each apartment. The Roycroft's common elements feature artwork by early tenant Rex Woods. The sleepy Forest Hill library sits across the street.
You'll be perfectly situated for the Eglinton LRT (the TTC's new "Line 5") due to open next autumn. Meanwhile you'll have bus 32 (every few minutes), bus 33, and bus 14, which together already reach four subway stations and the huge Loblaws nearby. Our five-page Welcome Pack provides phone numbers and business hours of the nearest shops and services, and general advice for newcomers to Forest Hill. Great neighbourhood!
The building went entirely nonsmoking two years ago. Regarding allergies we ask that furry or feathered pets not enter the apartment; amphibians, reptiles or fish are fine.
We warmly welcome all inquiries about this one-of-a-kind opportunity.
