Hi Friends! We're looking for a roommate in our 4 bedroom apartment off the Bedford L!! The Roommates: The current roomies are Leslie, a choreographer and kids yoga teacher from the fine state of New Jersey, Sam, a sophisticated English gentlemen with a panache for tech sales and competitive bicycling, and Katherine, a super adorable anthropology student hailing from sunny California. We're in our 20's and early 30's. We're really good friends and love hanging out together -- we'd like a roommate who would be a friend too (not just someone we live with). MALE ROOMMATE PREFERRED -- to keep the balance -- yin/yang if you will. About the room: It's 10' x 10' with a full size bed, desk and clothing rack. It's got two walls of windows and is likely the nicest room in the apartment. About the apt: It's a 4 bedroom apt with high ceilings, tons of light, beautifully decorated. Big kitchen where we love cooking and you're welcome to cook as well! Big roomy bathroom with a tub! A little meditation area in the living room - you're welcome to meditate or do yoga or whatever there if that's your kind of thing. Oh and we have a ridiculously beautiful view from our roof where you're welcome to hang anytime. Guitar and banjo too that you're welcome to play. And our newest addition is a built in projector for occasionally watching movies together on a huge screen. There's also a dishwasher and we have laundry on our floor - $2 to wash and $1.50 dry. Elevator in the building and a trash shoot on every floor. The neighborhood: We're on the south side of Williamsburg - so 10 min walk to the Bedford L or a 7 min walk to the Marcy JMZ. If you know anything about New York, you know this is basically the best neighborhood in the city. Tons of restaurants, cafes, bookshops, art galleries, music venues. You can bike over the Williamsburg bridge (2 blocks away) or take a walk on the park along the East River. We have a CitiBike station 1 block away and all have memberships -- roommate group biking and meditating happens sometimes -- it's great. Go for a run at McCarren Park. It's also pretty easy to find a parking space on the street here - just need to move it to the other side on street cleaning days but other than that it's free. We got it all! Rent/Terms: It's $1575/month plus 1/4 of the utilities -- they usually are around $50 - $75 each and include high-speed internet, electricity, and gas. The room is available to move in September 1st. One year sublet (you'll be listed on the lease as an approved occupant but not as an official lease holder) is ideal but we're open for slightly shorter term if we can't find a renter for the whole year. $1575 security deposit to move in. If you end up being super weird or something, we reserve the right to give you 30 days notice to move out at any point.
