For your convenience, the home includes an outdoor shower and games for beach days. Under the house, you'll find shade, chairs, a charcoal grill, horseshoes, and an outdoor shower, perfect for rinsing off sand after a day at the beach. Parking is available on the concrete driveway. Guests are responsible for any locksmith/re-key costs if a key is lost or the code is forgotten, unless the issue is due to a lock/smart-lock failure or the host's error. Bug spray is recommended due to mosquitos. Gilchrist is situated on the serene western end of the Bolivar Peninsula, nestled between the Gulf of Mexico and the bay. The beach here is expansive and largely unpopulated, with slow-moving vehicles and fishermen visible along the surf at dawn. Houses are elevated on pilings, offering generous space and open skies. Nights are dark, ideal for stargazing. Small cafes, bait shops, and stores are a short drive away, and the ferry to Galveston is accessible for day trips to the city. Grilling is permitted only on the patio area downstairs; grilling on the deck is prohibited by Galveston County ordinance. Mosquitos are notoriously bad at Crystal Beach, so bringing bug spray is advised. Please rinse sand off in the outdoor shower or with available water hoses and leave sandy shoes on the deck. Do not flush feminine hygiene products or anything other than toilet paper down the toilet to avoid damaging the septic system. Do not pour grease down the drains. Park only on the concrete driveway and be careful not to hit the pilings. Report any accidental breakage immediately; malicious or careless damage may be at the renter's expense.
