Flexible move-in date. I am seeking someone to take over my lease in a 4-bed, 2-bath apartment in Roscoe Village, Chicago. I am moving out on my own into a studio as I have decided it's time to live by myself. Move-in can be as soon as you like (ideally by March 1), January rent is already covered by me. The housemates are preferably seeking a vegan or someone interested in/transitioning toward veganism who agrees to be vegan in the house--all 3 of the housemates are vegan. Rent is $750 plus utilities (~30-50) for a 144-square-foot room in a 2200-square-foot duplex with a huge yard, back porch patio, close access to public transportation, spacious furnished public spaces, a piano, and a fully stocked kitchen of appliances. The room itself is not furnished currently. There is an akita/shepherd-mix dog roommate name Lilly. She is 9 and takes time to meet new pack-mates at her age. If you have a furry companion, they will want to introduce the four-legged friends to make sure they get along. About the (human) housemates: They are vegan animal rights activists, two of them identify as male and one of them identifies as female. Their work schedules vary, sometimes starting as early as 6am and can include nights and weekends, and one of them is looking to go back to school. Lilly the dog is a loving, playful animal with dominant tendencies. They enjoy having clean common living spaces, and house chores are negotiated among housemates. They would like to create a positive, compassionate living environment where activism, community building, learning, growing and creativity can flourish. The home is an intentionally safe space free of speciesism, racism, xenophobia, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, sizeism, ableism, ageism, classism, etc. If you are interested in this type of living situation, please inquire via email (****).
