Hello! We are a group of creative, ambitious, & respectful individuals who have started an artist collective together. There are five us of currently (music producers, concept artists, live performers, interactive installation creators, and more), and we are looking for a sixth (or a couple) to join us. If you're a creative type and would like to live with other creative types who are building a community vibe, this could be the space for you. /// What is the physical space like? /// We live in a huge, newly renovated, sunlight filled space. Our home is divided into 2 suites, each with a kitchen w/ new appliances, washer/dryer, 2 bathrooms, and 3 bedrooms. Connecting both of the suites is an atrium that contains a ginormous skylight for a ceiling & a stage that we've built for hosting workshops, performances, & other events. There are 4 other skylights throughout the space, which, along with a number of windows, keep our home super bright throughout the day. Please note, this is one huge home, despite it being physically divided into 2 suites. We are all each other's roommates :) We also have additional studio space within one of the suites. If you are interested in renting both a bedroom & studio space for your craft, please make sure to mention this when getting in touch. /// Where are you guys located? /// Our home is located in the downtown eastside. If poor people scare you, this is not the place for you. That said, despite some of the conceptions around the DTES, it really is quite safe here. We're 3 blocks (or less) from Strathcona, Chinatown, Railtown, & more. We're also a block away from Sunrise, the cheapest grocery store in Van for produce. There are also a plethora of bus lines that run right by our house which will take you everywhere in the city (kits, downtown, burnaby, skytrain stations, & literally every major street in East Van). /// What's the cost? /// You would be paying somewhere between $750-1200 - depending on whether you were a single/couple & whether or not you want the additional studio space. ($750 = single person, no studio). Keep in mind that whatever you pay includes all utilities, internet, dish/laundry detergent, toilet paper, & cleaning supplies. Some of the money also goes into a house fund, which we use to build cool projects collectively (such as a hanging garden we're building in our atrium over the summer!). /// Can I live there? /// If we think you'll be an awesome fit here, for sure!
