My roommate just got engaged, so I have a room in my apartment that will be available November 1st/November 15th (in between these dates on any day is probably fine). The apartment space itself is pretty awesome, with high ceilings and lots of light since it faces east/southeast, as well as being quite spacious for being downtown. The cost of rent includes insurance ($13.10 a month) and internet (~$20 a month). Laundry in the basement with new high efficiency washers and dryers, 24 hour security. It's on the 16th floor, but it's on the same floor as the building super, so the floor is nice and quiet, plus the view of the city/lake is amazing! There is a bus stop right outside the door for both the 75 and the 94 bus, Sherbourne station is a five minute walk up the street, No Frills right downstairs. Really close to everything downtown.
Most of the place is furnished; I already have a couch and armchair with a coffee table, dining table and chairs, lots of art, and a big ol' tv that's got an N64 hooked up to it- you know it was the best gaming system. There is still plenty of room if there's furniture you would like to bring along with you. That goes the same for plates/cups/bowls what have you, really anything you have can come with you and there will be space for it (unless it's bugs or you're a hoarder). Pets are also very welcome, so long as you are responsible for them. I will be happy to give your animal lots of love and attention.
The room that you will be getting is the master bedroom. It has a pretty big closet, and lots of space. You can definitely fit a queen size bed, dresser, desk and like a bookshelf at least in there. Probably more. It also has a big window so you have plenty of natural light throughout the day.
I suppose I should tell you a bit about myself- My name is Heather, and I am a 3rd year photography student at Ryerson. I hail from a small town in upstate New York. Not a huge partier, during the school year I am very involved in schoolwork and quiet during the week. Even on the weekends I'm pretty lax, but if you want to party, that's cool so long as it's not excessive. I am super laid back, it takes a lot for something to aggravate me but I don't have any problem speaking my mind (respectfully, of course). I have varied interests and almost anything will grab my attention, though some of my favorite things are of course photography, culinary arts, music of all kinds from thrash to electropop, learning, social justice, herbalism, and being in nature. I love trying new things and meeting new people, going on adventures, just goin' with the flow. I have a boyfriend that hangs out with me a lot and he is also super cool, he is a chef downtown so we are always cooking up delicious meals that we love to share. I am not a neat freak, but I do maintain cleanliness in my apartment and I expect the same from the people I share a space with. 420 friendly. My dog, which currently resides in NY, may potentially be joining me up here in a few months. He is a labradoodle and pretty much the best; extremely temperate and obedient, with a vivid personality. He gets along with most animals, and I have never seen him even try to attack anything. Unless you consider licking faces an attack.
I'm not looking for a best friend, but it would be very awesome to find someone to move in that has similar interests and hobbies that wouldn't mind going out for a drink every now and again. Really I would just rather not have a roommate that stays within the confines of their bedroom at all hours spent home. It's lame. But I'm also not looking for someone that is always exposing their innermost secrets all the time. A good balance is essential. So long as you are not totally batshit, I think we can get along famously. I have pictures of the place if you are interested, and we can always set up a time for you to come by and see the place. You won't regret it!
