Room for Rent in Amazing Arts District Loft in Downtown Los Angeles
This is likely the coolest place you will ever live. It's definitely the coolest place we've ever lived. The rooftop, the interior of the loft, the neighborhood.
We are:
Thirty-something artists and professionals.
Interests/vocations include photography & computer programming.
Looking for a roommate who is responsible, chill, easy to get along with, clean, and pays rent on time or early.
Here are the particulars:
Rent is 950. Move-in includes first, last and security. So total move-in is 2850.
All utilities and Internet are included. Looking for someone who is planning to stay at least a year. (No Short-Term Stays.) Bedrooms are private, kitchen and bathroom are shared. Move-in is October 1st. (Sorry, no pets.) We have two other rooms available as well.
There is shared office space with a huge desk that you are welcome to use.
Leaving the kitchen spotless at all times is Rule #1.
The loft comes with:
A well appointed kitchen with twin convection ovens, dishwasher, reverse osmosis water filter, plus all the basics you might expect.
Space to call your own in the office. A shared built-in desk / workspace and Internet is included.
A freight elevator. Most people move-in in one load.
Street parking. Most of the block is unrestricted parking, so it's generally only a major challenge when they're filming a movie on our block. We are also near the Metro and Union Station.
The neighborhood is incredibly walkable.
We enjoy working to make the space look and feel as comfortable and inviting as possible. That said, if you have great taste, there is room for your aesthetic and vision.
The rooftop is an experience unto itself. Though common in other parts of the world, accessible rooftops like this are practically unheard of in LA. Think Brooklyn.
A Note about Guests - Because there are multiple people living in the space, if you're the type of person who brings guests over all the time, this is probably not the living situation for you. It's okay to have friends over on occasion, but if you have people over all the time the loft gets too crowded.
The Building -- Vignes Arts Building has a unique personality and is a true industrial artist loft in downtown LA. The residents are creative, fun and well-educated. It's an interesting, cool place to live.
The Neighborhood -- The Los Angeles Arts District is an amazing place to be right now. A vibrant artist community growing in richness and complexity all the time. Fashioned from early twentieth century industrial conversions, we're constantly finding new art galleries and enclaves of creative endeavors.
Within Walking Distance -- In this corner of DTLA's Arts District there is a delightful amount of food and entertainment options in comfortable walking distance. Including great coffee shops and places to eat like Wurstküche, The Pie Hole, Novel Café, Umami Burger (all walking distance!) not to mention all of Little Tokyo.
If you'd like office space near your home, there is a co-working space in walking distance as well.
Within about a mile is Stumptown Coffee, Blue Bottle Coffee, Villain's Tavern, Church & State, Urban Radish, Grand Central Market, and the list goes on. . .
Plus there is a Café Gratitude and GROW market opening soon right around the corner!
If this sounds like the right place for you, send us an email and tell us about yourself. Bonus points if you tell us your favorite thing about this neighborhood.
